Description
The Saturn Series are galvanometer-based optical scanning systems, designed to achieve the highest performance of any galvo style optical scanner in their respective aperture size range. It is particularly suited for applications such as Confocal Microscopy and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), laser entertainment displays, high-speed displays, raster imaging, LIDAR systems, laser marking and material processing systems.
Features of the Saturn Series
- The Saturn Series uses a moving magnet rotor, whose design is generally stiffer than those of conventional moving magnet scanners, leading to reduced cross-axis wobble and higher resonant frequencies.
- With our patented X3 magnetic circuit the stator design places the coils as close as possible to the magnetic air gap while still not residing inside the air gap itself. This coil placement allows the Saturn’s coil resistance to be low while coil inductance is approximately the same as in conventional moving magnet scanners.
- Thanks to our patented coil design, thermal conductivity (the rate at which heat is removed from the coil) is also improved compared to other known scanner types.
- Our trapezoidal position sensor design allows for wide-angle scanning up to 110 degrees optical with high output and low noise.
The ScannerMAX Saturn series incorporate all the following design features: a half-inch round body diameter, back supporting mirror mount design, high-output and low-noise position detector, and in combination with our MachDSP digital servo driver we are able to achieve performance greater than other competitive galvanometers
