Resonant Scanners
Resonant scanners are used as an alternative to galvanometer scanners when high scan frequency is of utmost importance. They deliver a fixed, resonant frequency with a sinusoidal waveform. This type of performance is considered to be desirable for applications such as Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), confocal microscopy and raster image projection.
Modern applications tend to require different, more challenging waveforms such as sawtooth, triangle and square waves, while still requiring the high speeds of a resonant scanner. The ScannerMAX Saturn 2B scanner can be used as a substitute for traditional resonant scanners for many applications, due to our Stronger, Cooler, Faster design and construction techniques. In addition to being able to adjust the frequency, amplitude and offset can also be changed at any time during the scanning operation.
In large volumes, ScannerMAX also has the ability to deliver our URS (Universal Resonant Scanner), which delivers repeatable, precise, high performance scanning with very low drive power requirements. Because there are no wearing parts, the service life is virtually unlimited.
